INTERGRATING WASTE MANAGEMENT \\ by proceeding to treatment & recovery infrastructure!

		While the old-landfills restoration project is proceeding rapidly and the capacity of the regional sanitary landfill is being doubled, along with the construction of the second cell (the first cell received more than 150.000 tonnes of waste) DIADYMA is moving into recovery, fulfilling the central target of securing sustainability prerequisites for the regional IWMS of W.Macedonia keeping operation costs at low levels.

		The Mechanical Treatment Plant (MTP)
		Today, in DIADYMA exists absolute readiness for the direct auctioning of work. The company aspires in the valuable subscription of European Committee, which had financed the studies for the Treatment Unit from the Cohesion Fund, as well as all the works that function today in Western Macedonia. The MTP with a budget of 38 million euros and annual capacity of 150.000 tonnes, will contribute in the maximization of recyclable materials recovery and will double Landfill’s lifecycle. After the waste treatment in the Unit, only half of waste will be lead to Landfill, while the rest will be recovered as raw materials. In addition, the company is encouraging private investment in the field of energy recovery from solid urban waste within the legal framework regarding Private-Public partnerships.

		MTP integrates the regional IWMS of W.Macedonia, according to the Stratigic plan design approved by the municipalities just a few years ago! The MTP is the basic parameter of the company’s strategy regarding the reduction of MSW disposal through the development of local recovery-at-source programs throughout W.Macedonia.
